Veon’s 2021 IFRS revenue up 6.8% to $7.8 billion

Consolidated revenue of the telecommunications holding Veon Ltd. according to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) increased in 2021 compared to 2020 by 6.8% and amounted to $7.788 billion. This was said in a statement.

The company will not provide a financial guidance for 2022 due to the current circumstances. The company’s EBITDA in 2021 increased by 5.7% and amounted to $3.332 billion, while the EBITDA margin decreased by 0.4 percentage points to 42.8%.

Veon’s IFRS revenue in the fourth quarter of 2021 grew by 12.2% to $2.052 billion. The company’s EBITDA for the reporting period increased by 10.6% to $827 million.

Veon’s mobile and fixed-line revenue for 2021 increased by 5.3% to $7.147 billion, while mobile data revenue increased by 14.3% to $2.662 billion.

The number of Veon mobile subscribers for the reporting period increased by 4.4%, to 203.6 million, and the number of fixed-line subscribers – by 6%, to 4.7 million. 4%, to 1.864 billion dollars, from mobile data transmission – by 17.2%, to 698 million dollars.

The company’s capex increased by 1.8% in 2021 to $1.825 billion. Veon posted a net profit of $801 million against a loss in 2020. Capex Veon for the fourth quarter was down 12.1% to $566 million. The company’s net profit in October – December last year amounted to 341 million dollars, an increase of 875.4%.
