Gazprom shares fall to November 2020 levels after decision not to pay dividends

Moscow. 4th of July. INTERFAX.RU – Gazprom shares continue to fall on Monday for the third trading day in a row, the paper has already updated at least since November 2020 after the news that the annual general meeting of shareholders (AGM) at the end of June decided not to pay dividends for 2021.

On the Moscow Exchange, Gazprom shares fell to 183 rubles (-4.9%) by 11:48 Moscow time on Monday, on Friday the paper lost 7%, and last Thursday they fell by 30.5%, from the level in the region 298 rubles.

Famil Sadigov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Gazprom, commented on the situation earlier : “The shareholders decided that in the current situation it is not advisable to pay dividends for 2021. Gazprom’s priorities are currently the implementation of the investment program, including gasification of the regions of the Russian Federation, and preparation coming winter. And, of course, we must be ready to meet the obligation to pay higher taxes.”

Earlier, for 2021, it was proposed to pay 52.53 rubles each. per share (total 1.244 trillion rubles).
